Chelsea completed its fourth player signing as the June 2025 transfer window intensified ahead of the club’s World Cup.
Chelsea officially received a £12m signing from their sister club Strasbourg, 19-year-old defender Mamadou Sarr, which earned him a fourth signing in the transfer window ahead of the 2025 Club World Cup in June 2025.
The French young man has pledged to sign an eight-year contract and will make a choice at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
Chelsea will kick off their campaign with LAFC on June 16, then face Brazil’s flamenco on June 20, before ending the group stage before playing against Tunisian champion ES Tunisia on June 25.
Although Sarr’s deal was reached in January, both clubs waited until the summer transfer window to complete the move. Sarr has provided Strasbourg 28 times in all games last season, helping the team finish seventh in Ligue 1 and a place in the UEFA Conference League playoffs.
The deal marks the first player transfer between Chelsea and Strasbourg, as both clubs belong to the Blueco ownership group of Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.
Sarr became Chelsea’s fourth summer signing, joining Liam Delap (£30m from Ipswich town), Stephen (£29m from Palm Trees) and Dário Essugo (£18m from Sporting Lisbon).
