Chelsea Football Club has reportedly held talks with Olympic Lyon midfielder Malick Fofana, who hopes to find the perfect replacement for Jadon Sancho.
The sport confirmed on its official website on Monday, June 16, 2025 that Chelsea had asked about Malik Fofana’s availability. The 20-year-old is on the Blues radar and they hope to pair with the top winger before the 2025 transfer window ends.
Who is Malick Fofana?
Malick Fofana joined Lyon from Lyon at the Belgian Stadium in January 2024 and signed with Ligue 1 Club until 2028. He scored 11 goals in all games in 2024-25 and provided 6 assists in all games.
They also took a method to sign Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens before the club’s World Cup in search of signing Sancho’s replacement. However, they cannot reach an agreement until the pre-match transfer window ends on June 10, 2025.
The Blues were able to get a Liam Delap deal from Ipswich Town before the club’s World Cup began.
