Liverpool supporters will have to wait a few more days before meeting Florian Wirtz of the club’s red jersey before the new season (2025/26).
Liverpool have reached a club record deal for Florian Wirtz as they will pay Bayer Leverkusen an initial fee of £100 million and another £16 million surcharge. This total transfer fee is the highest fee any club pays for any player in Premier League history.
David Ornstein of the sport confirmed the news on his official social media account on Monday, June 16, 2025. He said Florian Wirtz will complete medical treatment this week and will unveil to supporters of the club.
He said
“Florian Wirtz is expected to arrive in the UK later this week, the current Friday medical plan, before completing the transfer from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool. Fees of £100 million guarantee + up to £16 million to #Bayer04. A five-year contract with #LFC is proposed.”
Milos Kekez is another player who will join Bournemouth’s Reds before the 2025 summer transfer window ends. Liverpool supporters will hope that the arrival of both players will increase their chances of winning the Premier League next season.
