Nigerian music star Simi sends a candid message to her followers about the dangers of seeking verification from others.
The singer advises people to go to social media platform X to avoid people from building their lives around public acceptance, warning that it can be short-lived and unreliable.
“Don’t live for human love. This is a fickle f*ck.” Sami wrote in her post. She encourages fans to prioritize truth, goodness, honesty and their relationship with God. Simi further pointed out that while public admiration can be recognized after public admiration, people should avoid persisting for too long because, in her words, “People forgot.”
Her posts have since sparked conversations online, with many agreeing with her and sharing their experiences of the unpredictability of criticism, criticism and public opinion in the age of social media.
