North Carolina Governor Josh Stein has officially announced June 14, 2025 as Igbo Day in recognition of the contribution of the Igbo community to the state’s cultural, social and economic life.
The announcement praised Ibos’ influence in the sectors of education, medicine, law, IT and the arts as well as its charitable and civic activities.
It also highlights the role of the Igbo Day Festival organization, which was established in 2022 to promote Igbo culture through festivals and public education.
“So, I am now North Carolina Governor Josh Stein hereby announces June 14, 2025 as “Ibo Day” in North Carolina and commends its compliance with all citizens,” said part of the announcement.
