President Bola Tinubu strongly condemned the recent killing of 12 travelers in the plateau state, calling the attack “unacceptable and savage”. The victim, including the groom’s father and brother, was reportedly ambushed while having a wedding from Zaria in Kaduna State to Jos.
In response, Tinubu directed the Inspector General to work with other security and intelligence agencies to ensure the rapid arrest of the perpetrators and brought to justice. He stressed that freedom of movement is an uncommercial right and warned against attempts to undermine such rights through violence.
The president also called on the Plateau state government to take decisive action to break the cycle of violence and use the incident as a deterrent. He expressed his condolences to the victim’s family and urged to calm down among the citizens while ensuring that justice will be served.
