    • Speed Darlington has been announced by NAPTIP.
    • The statement comes after a video he posted, where he appears to have had sexual activity with minors.
    • The video has aroused widespread public outrage, leading to the participation of NAPTIP.

Controversial Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye (commonly known as Speed Darlington) responded after the announcement by the state’s state ban on trafficking in persons (NAPTIP).

The agency’s manifesto came after the singer shared a video online, and he seemed to admit to having sex with minors. The editing sparked widespread anger and caused a formal reaction from NAPTIP that labeled him as someone of interest.

Reports soon emerged, and Darlington fled the country to avoid arrest and interrogation of the agency.

In a provocative reaction, Speed Darlington entered social media and asked Naptip to delete posts about him. He made it clear that he would not respond to their subpoena and dared to provide evidence or identify the complainant involved in the case.

He repeatedly questioned the people he had been bullied and stressed that he never mentioned anyone in the controversial video. According to him, he claimed that certain women reported to him the push from certain women who were jealous.

Darlington further noted that if the agency wanted his attention, they would have to pay him a standard fee of 2.5 million in public. He also threatened legal action, accusing the agency of undermining his image.

The singer tried to tag Naptip in his post in a weird twist, but mistakenly tagged an unrelated account, and many of his followers were amused when they checked the wrong handle.

This situation continues to produce different reactions on social media, with many questioning the legitimacy and morality of Darlington’s statements.
