

Jamal Musiala faced a serious injury in the quarterfinals between PSG World Cup PSG and Bayern Munich, which is likely to be a major part of the 2025/26 season.
Bayern Munich posted a statement on its official website on Sunday, July 7, 2025, confirming the extent of the injury of the German international.
What’s wrong with Jamal Musiala?
The 22-year-old was injured in the first half of the match between PSG and Bayern Munich when he was caught by Guardian Gianluigi Donnarumma while chasing a ball near the narrator.
Musiala screamed in pain as she clutched her left ankle, covering her face with her shirt as he was taken off from the stretcher.
The offensive midfielder was taken to the hospital for evaluation and has now flew back to Munich for surgery.
What is Bayern Munich’s comment on Jamal Musiala’s injury?
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl confirmed that the injury was a huge blow to the club.
“This serious injury and long absence is a real shock to Jamal and all of us. It hits Bayern FC. Everyone knows Jamal is very important to our game and what core role he plays to our team. In addition, the human impact is very painful. We all feel very painful for him; we all recover from his identity, he will work hard to recover, and his attitude will work hard. And we are already looking forward to him back on the court.”
But, Donnarumma said all his prayers and good wishes were with Jamal in post-match social media posts.
