Arsenal Football Club has confirmed a long-term deal for Spain’s top defender Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
The deal was announced on Arsenal’s official website on Sunday, July 6, 2025, a few weeks after Fabrizio Romano confirmed the transfer. He joined Arsenal from Sociedad’s extensive experience and has made 236 appearances in all first-team games after graduating from Club Academy.
In April 2021, Martin Zubimendi helped Sociedad win the 2019/20 Cup Copa del Rey against the Athletic Club. He played a role in their third win in Champions League football and his first game in a decade in the most recent fourth place.
