Born on July 5, 1935, Oba Olakulehin ascended the throne in July 2024 at the 43rd Olubadan in Ibadanland, his predecessor, Moshood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, died in March 2024 at the age of 81.
OYO State Governor Seyi Makinde formally awarded him office staff on July 12, 2024 and rose from the position of Balogun Olubadan to the Chiefs system. His rule, although brief, was marked by an effort to promote peace and unity within Ibadanlan. The news of his death has brought the city and traditional councils into mourning.
