Natasha vows to resume full meeting on Tuesday

Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan said she would challenge the ruling despite appeals from Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Akpoti-uduaghan confirmed in an interview with the Training Program Constituency on Saturday that she had written to the Senate to formally announce her intention to return.

“I have two months left before the six months expire. But, I wrote to the Senate again to tell them that I had restored God’s special grace on Week 22 (Tuesday).

“I’ll be there because the court did make a decision on that. Now, they think it’s an order, it’s not an order, but it’s a decision,” She said.

The MP was suspended in March, insisting that while the suspension did not stop her from offering projects to voters, it hindered her ability to perform key legislative duties, such as sponsorship bills and motions.

“I did mention that every senator has three main functions. Legislation, it’s making laws and treaty reviews. Then we do oversight, that’s the ministers and agencies. And then, the third one is the representative, I’m doing it.

“So I identified the issues and challenges of the community and made sure I introduced them and got caught in the federal budget. I did a great job with it. Of course, I did missed making the bill there, but that didn’t stop me from working,” he said. She explained.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended for alleged misconduct, a move that challenged her legal team in court.

A recent ruling declared a moratorium on illegality, but the Senate has since appealed, which the Senate said did not stop her from recovering.

Her planned return sets the stage for a new confrontation in the red room as she describes her as constitutional representation.
