Uchili Governor Bala Mohammed appointed Chinese national Mr. Li Zhensheng as economic adviser to the state government.
The news comes during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the China Center for Global Promotion of Cooperation on Thursday.
Governor Mohammed said the appointment and partnership are part of an effort to use Bauchi as a hub of international cooperation, focusing on attracting investment, driving infrastructure development and promoting bilateral cooperation in sectors including agriculture, education, education, health care, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas and trade facilities.
The Memorandum of Understanding establishes a cooperation framework and develops a project agreement separately. As part of the deal, Baucci will open a representative office in China to oversee project execution and ensure timely delivery.
Mohammed noted that the agreement is aligned with a diplomatic framework between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, which aims to strengthen ties at the national and state levels.
“The agreement is not only about infrastructure, but also about life-changing. We are opening the package to the world (Bauchi),” the governor said, adding that the collaboration will attract FDI, create jobs, create jobs, modernize sectors, improve skills and improve the state’s global visibility.
Zhensheng is also the chairman of China’s Global Promotion Cooperation Research Center, and he promises to mobilize international resources to support Bauchi’s economic growth. “We are committed to helping Bauchi achieve sustainable growth, modern infrastructure and improve livelihoods,” he said.
