The Japanese government dismissed the report, claiming it was a special visa category created for skilled Nigerians who wanted to move to Kisarazu, a city designated Nigerians as the “hometown” for Nigerians under the new cultural exchange initiative.
Clarification follows extensive reports last week, the statement from the chairperson’s post is that Tokyo will propose a special visa for “highly skilled, innovative and talented young Nigerians” in an attempt to live and work in Kisalazu.
The statement, signed by Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Information of the State Council, further claims that artisans and blue-collar workers are willing to improve their work and will also benefit from the arrangements.
However, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued on Monday, August 25 that there is no such immigration policy.
