Equatorial Guinea man sentenced to eight years in prison for embezzlement of public funds

A court in Equatorial Guinea has sentenced Baltasar Ebang Engonga, a senior government official, to eight years in prison for embezzlement, and a few months later he and his wife of other officials were notorious for their notorious sex tapes.

Hilario Mitogo, director of the Supreme Court Press, told reporters in WhatsApp news that Baltasar Ebang Engonga, a convicted court in a Biological Sciences court, transferred funds called professional travel expenses called personal use. Married National Financial Investigation Director Engonga, five other senior officials have been accused of misappropriating hundreds of thousands of dollars in wealthy Central African countries.

Engonga was nicknamed “Bello” and made world headlines with sex tapes in November, some of which were filmed in his office in the Treasury Department, published on social media during his detention until he was detained. The clips sparked a wave of online parody, including songs and dances, and posts about vicious drugs called “Balthazariem.” Mitogo said the provincial court sentenced Engonga to eight years in prison and a fine of $220,000.
