Qing Maddy talks about early struggles

Singer Chiang Mai Di expressed concerns about the challenges faced by female artists in the Nigerian music industry. She believes the industry is often unable to support and protect women, thus having limited acceptance of female musicians.

The “American Love” singer also stressed that women in music often face unfounded criticism.

During a recent appearance on the Wahala podcast, Chiang Maddy said: “I don’t think the industry supports women in terms of protection and general appreciation.”

“Women have to do twice as much work as men. Women are often criticized. But they don’t do this to men. Men have the right to do what they like, but for women, society just wants to stuff women too much.

“I went through that crazy thing because I was 19. So what do you want me to do? Women never get rested. So I’m very proud to be a female artist in Nigeria. I’m very proud of every female artist in Nigeria because it takes a lot of money [to be one]. This is not easy. ”
