Moreo recalls that her early years at TVC were not without turmoil.
She said:
Media personality Morayo recently shared details of her experience at TVC, revealing that internal politics led to her firing her after three years of work.
According to her, former Lagos Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu didn’t even know she was working at the station until news came to him in her sack. He was reportedly reminded by a well-intentioned colleague that she was the daughter of the late attorney Alao Aka-Basorun.
After that, Tinubu invites her to his office to clarify the situation. Moreo explained:
“He asked me what happened. After a few discussions, I was restored, but was downgraded.”
The broadcaster also spoke about the criticisms she faced in public support for Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election. She clarified that her recognition was a conscious personal choice, not a choice that was forced to be of her.
“I received a letter from Women’s Wing informing me that I was selected to participate. At that time, I had two choices: refuse or publicly support him. I chose to support him because I really believe in his candidacy,” She said.
Moreo compared her decision to Oprah Winfrey’s historic support for Barack Obama, who emphasized that she was in line with the beliefs of the time.
