Oba of Oba of Benin (Oba) called for two weeks of fasting and prayer to resist evil and nurturing peace in the Edo country.
This spiritual exercise is designed to be provided to residents at home and abroad, starting from September 26, 2024 until October 9, 2024, with daily fasting from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The monarch stressed the need for spiritual intervention and urged citizens to work together to seek divine protection and restore peace throughout the state.
He said prayers are expected to cross the religious line and encourage active participation by Christians, Muslims and traditional believers.
According to the OBA, collective efforts will help maintain Edo’s heritage, strengthen unity, and protect people from negative impacts.
