- Tiwa Savage expressed discomfort at being known as the “Queen of Afrobeats”.
- She thanks her fans for their love and admiration.
- Savage believes that the title should be shared among many female artists who should be.

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage revealed that she is not entirely called “Queen of Afrobeats”.
The music star noted that despite her value on the love and admiration of fans, she believes the title is not limited to her alone, as many other female artists are equally worthy of recognition.
Tiwa explained in a recent chat with Apple Music’s Ebro that despite the label being likable, she prefers to embrace it completely because it brings heavy expectations.
“People call me the queen of Afrobeats and I’m grateful.” She said. “But to be honest, many of us are queens.”
“Personally, I don’t like that tag, it’s uncomfortable [accept it]. But I am very grateful. It was not raised. I think it’s just because I’m one of the earliest female artists to break through in Nigeria. I appreciate it. I don’t take this for granted. ”
