Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records (GWR) for her preparation of the largest meal in Nigerian style rice, and formally recognized her for another historical milestone.
Guinness World Record announced in a post shared on its official X account:
“New record: The largest Nigerian style Jolov rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lbs 9 ounces), realized by Hilda Baci and Gino of Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria,” they wrote.
The achievement comes after a great cooking wonder at Eko Hotels and Suites on Victoria Island in Lagos on September 12, 2025.
The event, along with Hilda Baci, marked the “Gino World Jollof Festival”, attracted thousands of attendees and caused a massive social media buzz.
Hilda Baci, who set the longest cooking marathon in Guinness World in 2023, initially debuted internationally and now earned her reputation as one of Nigeria’s most famous chefs.
The Lagos event attracted celebrities including Funke Akindele, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye and Pastor Idowu and Governor Ogun’s wife Bamidele Abiodun, who all came to support the Chef’s latest record-breaking attempt.
