    • Davido has been announced as the only Nigerian artist to perform in Coachella 2026, joining global stars such as Justin Bieber and Karol G.
    • His wife Chioma celebrates the news by sharing the lineup with crying and fire emojis on Instagram.

Nigerian star Davido has been announced as one of the performers of Coachella in 2026, making him the only Nigerian artist on the lineup.

The festival is scheduled to be in Indiana, California from April 10 to April 17 to 19, 2012, and will also feature Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Karol G and anyone for headlines.

Davido’s wife Chioma reacted to the news, proudly sharing holiday posters in her Instagram story and adding crying and fire emojis.

In other news….. Zimbabwe Music Rights Association (Zimura) announced that all churches now have to obtain permission for songs performed during their service, warning that copyright can be stolen without permission from other people’s work.

Speaking about Oscar Pambaka’s burning issue on September 15, spokesman Alexio Gwenzi said that the church, cover band and venue are legal “music users” and must pay a licensing fee before executing copyrighted works.

“If you are going to enforce the intellectual property of others, you will infringe their copyright and should pay for it,” he said. He revealed that some cathedrals, such as the UFIC of the Prophet Makandiwa, have complied.

Zimura has recently sparked debate on the cover imposition of $150, but Gwenzi defended the policy, saying the tariffs were approved by the ministry before they were implemented. “We pay for the use of music. If your music is not used, you won’t get anything,” he explained on the royalties, with a maximum amount of about $5,000.

He also confirmed that CEO polisile ncube-chimhini is still in office despite the June 2025 appeal, while highlighting member benefits such as funeral insurance, allowances and a $500 support fund.
