    • Ibadaran 44th Obadan, Oba Rashid Adewolu Ladoja has appointed President Bola Tinubu to create Ibadan State before this
    • He called after receiving office staff from Governor Seyi Makinde, who described the coronation as a proud moment, stressing the importance of maintaining Ibadan’s legacy.

The 44th Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja of Ibadan, Ibadanan, calls on President Bola Tinubu to approve the Ibadan state by 2027.

The monarch appealed shortly after receiving an appeal from the office staff of Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde at the coronation ceremony. Speaking in Yoruba, Oba Ladoja emphasized that the demand for the Ibadan country remains the top priority for the people.

Governor Makinde described the coronation as a historic moment, praising the new Olubadan’s uplift as a pride in the city.

“It is an honor to celebrate the crowning and formal speech of the office staff, his empire, Oba Adewolu Ladoja. Today, the joy and excitement across Ibadan highlights the importance of maintaining our legacy,” said Dr. Makinde said.

In other news…..A Nigerian nurse sparked a conversation online after educating the public about the correct use of cotton buds and stressed that they were not designed for ear cleaning.

In a health consultation shared on social media, she warned that using cotton buds to remove ear wax can do more harm than good, as it can lead the wax deeper into the ear canal, causing clogging, infection and even damage to the eardrum.

According to her, cotton buds are best suited for other hygienic purposes, such as disinfecting wounds, cleaning noses, wiping away eye discharges, and applying ointment to small areas of the skin.

She stressed that ear wax (medically known as Cerumen) is a natural protective barrier for the ears and does not always need to be removed. In case of overaccumulation, she advises people to consult health care professionals rather than resorting to cotton.

Her message has since attracted the attention of social media platforms, and many Nigerians admit that they have grown up with cotton buds for ear cleaning, which is not aware of the risks.
