The Nigerian media industry is mourning the shocking D3 for 29-year-old Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, host, journalist and producer of Arise News Channel, who was killed in an armed robbery at a residence in Katampe, Abuja.
The colleague’s Maduagwu was called “Sommmie” by 3 tacks on Monday morning.
She died inappropriately at the age of 29, leaving a gap in the newsroom among viewers who appreciate her professional delivery and passionate personality.
In a statement confirming the incident, Arise News described her as a “real member of the Arise News family” whose voice “interacts and connects with our audience.”
The radio further noted: “Somi’s voice is now silent, but her spirit, enthusiasm and legacy will last as part of our collective memory. We call for a quick investigation, arrest and prosecution of the culprit.”

The deceased was born on December 26, 1995.
