    • A young Nigerian man canceled his wedding a few weeks before the ceremony.
    • Cancellation is due to fiancé’s family asking for an additional food of 1.5 million
    • He has paid 3.5 million for the bride price and paid for all other wedding fees.

A young Nigerian man canceled his wedding just weeks before the ceremony, and his fiancé family asked for another 1.5 million servings, even though he had paid the price of 3.5 million for the bride.

The groom has taken care of all other wedding expenses, but when the bride’s family refuses to meet new needs, he decides to cancel the marriage. His fiancé lacked reaction during the disagreement, and despite his love for her, his disappointment increased his disappointment.

Sources said the groom tried to negotiate to provide his own catering service, but the family insisted that 1.5 million payments were a mandatory tradition in their family.

Even though event planners were hired and other costs were determined, the bride’s family showed no signs of compromise.

In an article by user @itzchristunique on X (formerly known as Twitter), the groom expressed his frustration, highlighting the harm of his fiancé staying silent rather than helping his family mediate.

“My friend’s brother, who should have a wedding in December, just canceled his fiancé family and asked him to pay $1.5 million for food.”

“At the same time, he has hired event planners to handle everything, including food. He told them not to worry, but they insisted it was a tradition for their family. His greatest frustration was that his wife wouldn’t say anything when he asked her to intervene.”

“When I asked my friend if there were more, she said yes.

“Well, I support him 100% because why are your family so harsh and you don’t know anything about it?”
