- Former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole advised former President Goodluck Jonathan to protect his political reputation.
- Oshiomhole suggested that Jonathan should resist pressure to run for the 2027 presidential election.
- He believes that any attempt to encourage Jonathan to play is from someone who doesn’t hug him.

Former Edo Governor Adams Oshiomhole has advised former President Goodluck Jonathan to safeguard his political reputation by boycotting any pressure to compete in the 2027 presidential election.
The former president of all the progressive conferences (APC) said on the channel’s Sunday politics that any attempt to lure Jonathan into the game will only come from those who don’t want him to go well.
Oshiomhole believes that if Jonathan decides to run again, both APC and President Bola Tinubu will easily defeat Jonathan, noting that the former president’s political influence in the South and South regions has weakened since leaving office.
He said:
“How could Jonathan be a threat? When the PDP is really a PDP, we beat him before. If a man reaches the peak with the best PDP on the peak and he is defeated, I think only his enemies will push him to the election.
Sir, if I can advise him, please keep this way. You reigned for eight years and you didn’t have to reign nine. Jonathan manages to prove that out of power, you can be different.
If he is very flat, we will beat him because now South South is no longer PDP. So where is he going to start?
Watch how he goes up to that office, if I were him, I would have lived the end of my life, trying to find the relevance he has found, and speaking because of failure, and an unforgettable offer about my blood Sorry, Nigerian blood Not worthy of my ambitions, he should allow those legacies to become reality. ”
Jonathan defeated Buhari in 2015
Jonathan, who ruled the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 presidential election, lost to then-APC candidate Muhammadu Buhari.
Despite the advantages of a position, Jonathan was voted by millions of Nigerians and became one of the most important political interests in American history.
His administration faces strong opposition, especially in the case of a proposal to remove fuel subsidies, a policy that Bola Tinubu, a figure of the time, criticized.
Jonathan’s administration is also struggling with widespread insecurity, especially the Boko Haram Ristgent Group in Borno State kidnapped Chibok female students.
