Arise TV reporter Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu died after jumping from a third floor, and her family has released her obituary.

According to the statement, the British-trained lawyer and journalist will be laid to rest on Saturday, October 18, 2025, following a funeral service at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Aguru, Anambra State.

The funeral will be preceded by a service of songs on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Corpus Christi Cathedral, Kaduna Street, Port Harcourt.

Former beauty queen Somtochukwu jumped to her death from the third floor apartment on September 29 during a robbery attack at her residence in Katampe, Abuja.

In other news… An unidentified woman on X (formerly Twitter) sparked controversy after she named Rashidate Ayanwale, the mother of Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner Imisi Ayanwale.

The user, who goes by the handle @MsAdaO, accused Rashidate of being in the spotlight during her daughter’s important moment despite allegedly abandoning her when she was just 12 years old.

“African parents are so bold,” she wrote in the fiery post. “Kicking a 12-year-old girl out of her home so she can be raped, have an abortion, and live under a bridge while you are front and center during her most important moments as if you didn’t leave her to die. So crazy.”

The tweet has since gone viral, sparking a heated debate after Rashidat publicly prayed for Imisi’s new car, with many questioning her true intentions
