Actor Tunde Usman, popularly known as Okele, has jokingly suggested that Nigeria should “sign” foreign presidents to solve the country’s problems.
Responding to rising cooking gas costs, he likened governance to football, saying underperforming leaders should be replaced like underperforming coaches.
“Greetings to all Nigerians at home and abroad. May God help us alleviate this hardship. I just thought about something about gas, fuel and how expensive things are in Nigeria.
“If you are a football lover, you know that every club has coaches, assistant coaches and people who train goalkeepers. So instead of campaigning for different political parties and plundering our money, why can’t Nigeria look to the world and fix Nigeria by signing any former president who has proven himself in another country.
“Even many football countries have signed coaches from different countries. Maybe we should adopt the approach of presidential signatures to end the campaigns of different political parties. Let’s sign our presidents together, just like we sign coaches, we can fire the underperforming president and sign a new one.”
