Nigerian Afrobeat superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has once again caught the public’s attention with the announcement of an upcoming nationwide music tour that will take him through several major cities in Nigeria.
The tour will kick off on October 18 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Known as the home of the Super Eagles, the stadium has a capacity of approximately 30,000 fans, with additional seats available on the pitch to accommodate larger concertgoers.
Davido will travel to Enugu from Uyo and is scheduled to perform at Michael Okpara Square on October 26. Although the square is smaller than the venue in Uyo, it is a local favorite and excitement has begun to build across the south-east for his arrival.
Next on the itinerary is Yola, Adamawa State, where the artist will surprise fans at Mahmud Ribadu Square on October 29. The open-air venue has no fixed capacity and ticket details remain under wraps, but expectations in the North East remain high.
The first phase of the tour will conclude on November 2 at the historic Liberty Stadium (now the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan). The venue has a capacity of approximately 25,000 people and, as Nigeria’s first modern stadium, occupies a special place in Nigeria’s cultural and sporting heritage.
Davido didn’t stop there. The second leg of his tour will be on December 14 at Eagle Plaza, Abuja, followed by a Christmas Eve concert at Eko Hotel, Lagos to end the year in grand style, a show expected to be a highlight of the festive season.
Announcing the tour on his Instagram page, Davido expressed his excitement and gratitude to his fans for their continued support as he prepares to deliver unforgettable performances on stages across the country.
“I’ve been lucky enough to perform all over the world and Nigeria has been with me wherever I go. But this time… I’m bringing it home. 🫡 After an unforgettable trip to North America, it was only natural that we bring this energy back to where it all began. 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬 . 5IVE Nigeria trip, are you ready? ! ! This is for culture. This is personal. This one is for America’s #Davido#Homecoming. #5iveAlive journey. #Wema5iveAliveTour. “
