Nigeria Super Eagles beat Benin Republic Cheetahs 4-0 in a decisive 2026 World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
A hat-trick from Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen and a goal from second-half substitute Frank Onyeka were enough to help Nigeria secure three points against Benin to secure World Cup qualification.
Although the number of goals was not enough for Nigeria to qualify, leaders South Africa defeated Rwanda 3-0 to gain three points and qualify for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
There were four changes from our win over Lesotho. Ndidi leads the team tonight. Simon made his 85th appearance. Osimhen pairs up front with Akor Adams.
