- Pat Akpabio, the sister-in-law of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has accused him of betrayal and alleged involvement in political killings during his tenure as governor of Akwa Ibom.
- In a widely seen video, she vowed to overthrow him in 2027, claiming he had betrayed loyal allies, falsely accused her husband of murder and neglected his hometown.
- Pat also said that despite Akpabio’s high political status, he had brought little development to his community.

Pat Akpabio, sister-in-law of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has sparked controversy after she accused him of treachery and linked him to pending killings related to Akwa Ibom politics during his tenure as governor.
In a fiery Facebook video posted on October 11, she said:
“For all the people you killed when you were governor of (Akwa Ibom) and all the people you killed when you were in the Senate, you will never have a good time.”
Pat, who was once part of the powerful “Ukana Ikot Ntun Cabal” that supported Akpabio’s rise, accused Akpabio of betraying his loyal allies and named Umana Okon Umana, Nsima Ekere, Akan Udofia and Bessie Albert as those he “betrayed”.
She declared:
“Akpabio easily forgets the good things people have done for him. If he competes again in 2027, he will be disgraced.”
Ibanga Akpabio’s husband Pat also claimed that the Senate President falsely accused her husband of murder and stealing his money after the 2019 election.
“You know I love you. I don’t hate you… In 2019, when people wrote all kinds of things against you, I stood by you and I collected 10 workshops from you? Today, you have the audacity to say you made me,” she said.
She further mocked Akpabio’s record as a federal parliamentarian, saying his hometown of Ukana Ikot Ntun had been without electricity for weeks.
Pat ended her rant with a warning:
“When you are done, go home. This is your resignation notice. Nigerians have no idea who you are. When they do, they will know you are a very evil person.”
She also urged President Bola Tinubu to be cautious with the Senate President and threatened to reveal more “damaging” secrets if he responded.
