'Nigeria is so toxic' - Comedian Shank criticized for controversial tweets

Nigerian comedian and content creator Shank Comics sparked widespread online discussion with his humorous and provocative comparison between Nigerian and British men.

In a post that went viral, Shank joked that Nigerian men tend to spend more liberally in clubs, while British men are more reserved and often share a bottle of wine with a few friends.

He said, “We Nigerian boys are richer than British boys. Naija boys buy bottles in clubs but British boys buy 10 for a bottle.”

Shank also questioned why British women often visit Nigeria during holidays, suggesting they travel more to collect money than spend it.

The post immediately sparked debate on social media, with fans divided over whether his comments were harmless humor or an unfair stereotype.

Some Nigerians found the joke relatable, claiming that British men are naturally more frugal, while others criticized Shank for making the generalization, pointing out that spending habits vary depending on local costs of living and lifestyle.

One fan commented, “Please don’t lie. Naija boys love to show off; British boys just count money.” Another added, “This is not stingy. Life in the UK is expensive; no one buys bottles recklessly.”

As always, Shank’s comedic performance once again captured the attention of the internet, proving that even light-hearted jokes can quickly spark heated debates in Nigeria.
