Seyi Tinubu’s wife Layal Tinubu recently gave fans a glimpse into their relationship.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s son Seyi celebrated his 40th birthday this week, with friends and family paying tribute to him.
In Seyi’s birthday documentary, Layal gives a heartfelt account of her husband as a real person. She said the people she saw in public were the same people she saw at home.
She said:
“If there’s one thing about him that everyone admires, it’s his authenticity. He never tries to be someone else. What you see in Seyi is his honesty, confidence and authenticity.”
Rayal, who rarely speaks publicly about their marriage, said her husband’s character and humility continue to inspire her.
Looking back on how their relationship began, Rayal points out that their story is not a cinematic romance or a grand chase.
She recalled:
“We first connected through Facebook. There were no hook-ups, there weren’t any big gestures. It was just his confidence, his ease, his effortless charm. That’s what attracted me to him.”
Rayal also highlighted her husband’s innate ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
She added:
“Whether the room was filled with strangers or close friends, he had a gift for making people feel comfortable. He didn’t try too hard; he was just himself.”
According to her, Sey’s humility, empathy and sense of purpose shaped not only their marriage but also the impact he made through his philanthropic work.
