    • Nigerian musician Habeeb Okikiola, known as “Portable,” is sparking discussion online.
    • He criticized those who displayed luxury goods but lacked basic necessities.
    • In a viral video, he pointed out the irony of showing off the latest iPhone 17 without necessities like a car or stable housing.

Controversial Nigerian musician Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as “Portable,” has reignited online discussions by targeting people who flaunt luxury goods but struggle to meet basic needs.

In a video that quickly went viral, the Zazoo Zeh singer criticized those who show off the latest iPhone 17 but lack the necessities like a car or a stable place to live.

“You use an iPhone 17, you don’t have 4 tires, you will soon have 4 tires,” In his signature street slang, Portable warns that misplaced priorities can lead to unnecessary struggles and disappointments.

The artist known for his candid street smarts encourages Nigerian youths to invest in personal growth and hard work instead of chasing social media recognition through expensive mobile phones.

In the same video, Portable also accused some importers and mobile phone dealers of introducing fake iPhone 17 models into the Nigerian market. He expressed concern that many buyers were unable to differentiate between genuine and counterfeit equipment.

“Don’t bring thieves, don’t bring Chinese. They want to cheat you, they will destroy people’s businesses.” He lamented, sympathizing with those who unknowingly purchased fake phones and were subsequently ridiculed.

Portable emphasizes that anyone spending a lot of money on a phone need not worry about its authenticity. His remarks sparked discussion about the growing popularity of modified electronics in Nigeria and how social pressure is driving demand for such products.

Social media users were quick to react to the video. One person wrote, “This is causing wahala because Nigerians like to oppress themselves. When they want to oppress others, those using fake iPhone 17 will explain the tires.” Another person echoed Portable’s statement: “You use iPhone 17, you don’t have four tires, you will get tired of it very quickly.”

While some praised the singer for delivering a humorous and truthful message about financial priorities, others thought his approach was a little too blunt.

Despite dissent, the video continues to trend, cementing Portable’s status as one of Nigeria’s most outspoken and unpredictable entertainers.
