Former Big Brother Naija star Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has revealed that fame has changed her perspective on marriage.
She told Yanga FM in Lagos that she could no longer marry just for love, insisting that as a millionaire, her potential husband must be a billionaire.
“I can’t get married just for love. I’m looking for a billionaire. I’m a millionaire, so my potential husband should be richer than me,” she said.
Tacha added that she might have considered getting married for love before appearing on Big Brother Naija in 2019, but not anymore.
“If I was before Big Brother Naija, maybe it would be an option. But now, it’s a no,” she said.
She also noted that marriage is not her priority as she is currently focused on growing her career.
In other news… Veteran Nollywood actor Dele Odule says Western values cannot undermine Africa’s long-standing acceptance of polygamy, stressing that responsibility and discipline are more important than trying to align with foreign ideals.
Responding to public rumors and social media speculation about his personal life, Odule explained that many people tend to twist his inspirational message into gossip to gain attention.
“Once, people said I had ten children with ten different women. I don’t bother to deny it. After all, it is not a crime in Nigeria. If it is a crime, I will be responsible for it when I get to heaven.” he said.
The veteran actor insists that polygamy is still part of African tradition and believes there is nothing wrong with it as long as men provide for and manage their families responsibly.
“Polygamy is ingrained in African culture. The Western world preaches monogamy, but we are Africans. The key is to be disciplined and responsible.” he said.
Looking back on his career, Odule admits that fame often comes with challenges, especially in an age dominated by social media where narratives can easily be distorted by clicks. However, he noted that focus and integrity have helped him maintain a clean image in the public eye.
“I’ve learned not to get into unnecessary arguments. If what’s said about me doesn’t affect my reputation, I let it go. As long as I’m not accused of any crime, I won’t dwell on it.” he explained.
He also praised his family for keeping him grounded, saying that at home he is neither a star nor a celebrity, but a husband and father who strives to spend most of his time with his loved ones.
“Consistency, discipline, and self-awareness keep me balanced. Once you truly know yourself, you can overcome anything.” Odulay shared.
He offers words of wisdom to upcoming artists, warning that the pursuit of fame can easily lead to missteps without patience and self-control.
“If you’re going into entertainment, be careful. A lot of people get into trouble not because they mean to, but because they lose focus,” he warned.
