    • Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, and his brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, have been remanded in Kuje Prison after participating in the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protests in Abuja.
    • A magistrate court in Kuj on Tuesday ordered their remand in custody as they were charged with inciting riots and breaching public peace.
    • Kanu’s brother Kanuta has alleged conspiracy to frustrate the IPOB leader’s upcoming trial, while police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the charges would follow an investigation.

Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, and his brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, were on Tuesday remanded to Kuje Prison by the Kuje Magistrate Court, Abuja.

They were remanded after attending the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest in Abuja on Monday.

Nnamdi Kanu’s brother Kanuta Kanu wrote on X:

“The magistrate in Kuje has remanded in custody the lead lawyer in the Mazi Nnamdi Kanu case, Barrister Aloy Ejimacol, and his youngest brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu. This is a conspiracy by the executive, the legislature and the judiciary to frustrate Kanu’s trial on Thursday.”

According to court documents shared by former Chairman of the Nigeria Human Rights Commission, Professor Chidi Odinkalu, police charged Ejimacol, Kanu and ten others with inciting riots and breaching public peace.

Charges allege that the suspects obstructed the freedom of movement of other citizens, disrupted traffic and chanted war hymns while demanding Kanu’s release.

Earlier, police professional Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed on the TV channel’s Politics Today program that the arrested protesters would be charged to court following an investigation.
