Nollywood actress, Habibat Jimad recently opened up about her complicated relationship with actor Lateef Adedimeji, revealing that he has been blocking her for four years.
In an Instagram video, Jinad reflected on their early years in the film industry, when both were just starting out before becoming famous and successful. She shared a particularly painful experience that left a lasting impression on her.
Genard explained that she once asked Latif to star in one of her films and got a surprising response. According to her, the actor told her that he preferred to work only with “lucky” people.
She recalled, “There was a time when I wanted to make a movie and asked Lateef Adedimeji to star in it. He told me point blank that he only wanted to make movies with lucky people. I was hurt at first, but I chose to move on.”
Despite her disappointment, Guinard stressed she bore him no ill will. However, when she realized she was blocked months later, she tried to reconnect with another producer, but the results were shocking.
“I tried contacting him again and found out I had been blocked for about four years. He finally unblocked me in January 2025,” she said, admitting she never understood why this happened.
Guinard clarified that her decision to speak about the incident was not to create drama, but to highlight how fame can sometimes change people in the industry.
