A touching video has captured the touching moment Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozi handed her football boots to a young fan in Abeokuta before Nigeria’s match against Benin Republic.
Not long ago, the Super Falcons got off to a good start by defeating the Amazons of the Republic of Benin 2-0 at the Lome Kege Stadium in Togo in the final round of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. First-half goals from Chinwendu Ihezo and Esther Okoronkwo gave Nigeria a crucial away advantage.
The return leg is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta. With a two-goal cushion, the Falcons only needed a draw or even a narrow margin to advance to the next stage of WAFCON qualifying. Playing at home and with strong support from fans, Nigeria are in a good position for the second leg.
Before the game, Alozzi celebrated the young fan’s day by speaking with the girl’s father and gifting the excited 9-year-old a pair of boots. Following the touching gesture, the pair posed for a photo together, with the little fan proudly holding her new boots.
