Reality TV star Terseer Kidd Waya, popularly known as Kidd Waya, has sparked a backlash after explaining why she avoids dating bankrupt women.
The billionaire son of Big Brother Naija fame made the comments during an episode of the Off The Record podcast.
According to him, women who come from humble beginnings are often grateful and respectful at first, but develop a sense of entitlement once they adjust to his lifestyle. Kidwaya said that at first, everything felt exciting and new to them, but after a while, they started comparing themselves to others.
He explained that constant comparison can lead to unrealistic expectations, saying:
“They want the same package, the same trip, and soon what was once special becomes their expectation. Entitlement starts to set in and sometimes it turns into rudeness.”
In another episode of the same podcast, Kiddwaya shared his thoughts on what really matters in a relationship.
He said character, values and respect are more important to him than a person’s social class or financial background. The reality star said he doesn’t judge people based on their background or family status, but on how they treat others.
“Just stay friendly, energetic and down to earth,” he said, noting kindness and humility as qualities he finds attractive.
He added that true respect is not determined by social status, explaining:
“The way you speak to a waiter or someone on a different level than you says everything about you. Respect should never be based on wealth.”
Kiddwaya also gave insight into what kind of partner would suit his lifestyle. For him, it’s all about energy, adventure and emotional maturity.
He says he values a woman who can keep up with his spontaneous personality while also staying grounded.
“I can wake up and say, ‘Baby, we’re going to Jamaica tomorrow,’ and I want her to say, ‘Let’s go,'” he revealed. “I like someone who can match my energy and enjoy the moment.”
Despite coming from a wealthy background, Kiddwaya insists that she does not prioritize materialism in love. Instead, he wanted a partner with higher beliefs, adding:
“You have to believe in God. It doesn’t have to be tied to religion, but it has to be belief in something greater than ourselves.”
