Nollywood production manager and casting director, Anierobi “Nwa South” Courage, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting head makeup artist Mary Eze on a movie set in Lagos State.
The incident, which took place on the set of Caddilly Production’s “Lagos to Opulence” on October 28, 2025, was captured in a viral video posted by the filmmaker Stanley Ontop.
In the video, Courage pushes Ezz into a chair, beats her, rips her clothes off, and chokes her while other crew members try to separate them.
The Nigeria Film Crew Community (NFCC) confirmed his arrest in a statement on Wednesday and condemned the attack.
“On October 28, 2025, on the set of Caddilly Production’s Lagos to Opulence, a production manager named Anierobi Courage (aka Nwa South) physically and violently assaulted on-set makeup supervisor Mary Chizzy Eze,” NFCC stated.
“As the video evidence we have received shows, the production manager violently beat and strangled the makeup team leader for objecting to poor and unequal treatment on set. “
The NFCC confirmed Courage had been arrested and the victim received medical attention.
“Violence has no place on any set. A production manager’s job is to ensure that the production runs smoothly and to look after the welfare, safety and comfort of the entire cast and crew. A good production manager will protect his team, not harm them. This man chose the exact opposite and displayed violence and bestiality towards those he was responsible for.”
describe his behavior as “Inexcusable, unprofessional and criminal” The NFCC urged major industry bodies including AMP, AMPMAN and ITPAN to blacklist Courage and impose disciplinary action.
“We strongly condemn this violence and bestiality, as well as the inhumane accommodation conditions on the same set, with 15 female crew members sharing a room. This disregard for human dignity is unacceptable. Violence has no place in our industry. Respect and safety are non-negotiable.”
