It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pastor Nkechi Ene, a servant of God, our presiding pastor and Mother of Israel, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, into glory. Pastor Cage returned to Nigeria exhausted after a successful, extensive ministry trip filled with miracles and testimonies. She experienced a sudden health crisis while in Lagos.
As we process this shocking news, as our hearts hurt and questions assault our minds, we are assured that God is a good God and that His mercy endures forever. He is always loyal. Pastors are in a better position because it is so much better to be with Christ (Philippians 1:23). As the apostle Paul said, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21). Our pastor was a woman of great faith who lived and believed the Word of God until the very end. She gave her life in service to God and His people. She now heard her Master’s words: “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).
As a church family, we at Carpenter Church and our local and global ministries acknowledge that this is a very challenging time for us. In times like these, what we should do is hug, comfort, and encourage one another—starting with our pastors’ families. Let us be filled with love, comfort, and prayers, especially our pastor husband brothers. Emeka Ene and their daughters Zoe, Chloe, Tracy and Osi. We also continue to support her mother, Mum. Mercy Chijioke, and her siblings.
As a church, we look to and rely on the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, to comfort and strengthen us. We trust our Heavenly Father to provide us with everything we need during this season. We accept His grace and healing.
Although her absence leaves us feeling empty, we thank God for the wonderful and productive lives we have lived. We honor and celebrate one of God’s greatest generals of our generation—a man who lived and taught the pure Word of God, danced with the Holy Spirit, and taught us by precept and example to do the same. Her life was one of faith in God, selfless, sacrificial service, and deep love for God and humanity.
Although she is no longer with us now, her influence and legacy live on in our hearts and in our lives.
The Lord is good, and his steadfast love endures forever. We celebrate God’s General, our Mother of Israel, Pastor Mrs. Nkechiyere Ene.
We thank God for her life and merit in the body of Christ. Praise God! Praise God! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! !
He is loyal.
Love and blessings,
Pastor Thora Akinwell
