    • Ezi Ugoma, a 200-level microbiology student of Delta State University, Abraka, has been forced to remain in school for four semesters after she filmed and shared on TikTok a video of a dying student who allegedly had an abortion at the university’s health centre.
    • The decision, approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Samuel Asagba, followed the findings of the Student Disciplinary Committee, which ruled that Ugoma’s conduct amounted to gross misconduct and breach of the oath of matriculation. She will resume her studies in the 2027/2028 academic year

A 200-level microbiology student at Delta State University, Abraka, Ezi Ugoma, has been involuntarily detained for four semesters after she filmed and shared a video on TikTok of a dying colleague who allegedly had an abortion.

According to a letter signed by the school’s principal assistant provost, the disciplinary action came after the Student Disciplinary Committee found that Ugoma’s actions constituted serious misconduct and a violation of the oath of admission.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Samuel Asagba, approved the committee’s recommendations and Ugoma is expected to resume in the 2027/2028 academic session. A copy of the decision has also been sent to her sponsors and relevant university authorities.

In other news… Disturbing exchanges emerged online after a woman’s sister exposed a series of disturbing messages allegedly sent by a married man who reacted angrily after being rejected.

Twitter user @Nazianwa shared screenshots of the messages, expressing shock at the man’s actions. Her post read:

“Look at the dangerous messages a man sent my sister because she said no to him. A married man by the way.”

Screenshots shared showed the man sending a series of manipulative and insulting messages, and he appeared to lash out after being rejected. In the text messages, he insulted the woman’s character, made derogatory comments about her appearance and even compared her to his wife and other women.

Some of his news are as follows:

    “You’re a terrible person. You’re just wearing sheep’s clothing.”
“Do you think you are beautiful? Have you ever met my wife? You are the least beautiful of them all.”
“I blame myself for lowering my profile to ask you out.”

He then vacillated between insulting and trying to manipulate her, at one point offering gifts and suggesting they meet again despite her apparent disinterest.

The post quickly went viral, drawing widespread condemnation from users who criticized the man’s behavior as harassment, disrespect and emotional abuse.
