    Imperial philanthropic family squanders half a billion naira on spouses

    • The Imperial Philanthropic Family (DIPF), led by High Chief Dr. Darlington Nwabunike, successfully concluded its 6th Annual General Conference and Ascension Night in Lagos.
    • The event, with the theme “Emerging South East: Reclaiming Past Gloriousness”, invited Professor Obiora Okonkwo and Hon. Osita Chidoka to call for innovation and self-reliance in the region.

    Nigeria’s most important social organization, De Imperial Philanthropic Family, under the leadership of its National Chairman, High Chief Dr. (Sir) Darlington Nwabunike (Eze-Nwakaibeya Ogbabalu Aku N’anwu Ojoto), successfully concluded its 6th Annual General Conference and Ascension Night in Lagos from October 30 to November 1, 2025.

    The theme of the AGM was “Emerging South East: Reclaiming the Glorious Past” and notable speakers included Prof. Obiora Okonkwo and Hon. Osita Chidoka. They emphasized Akulueuno, innovation and the transformation from a culture of absence to a culture of agency for regional progress.

    The grand Ascension Night attracted senior dignitaries such as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Dear. Benjamin Kalu; Senator Oji Uzor Kalu; Senator Victor Ume; Senator Tony Nwoye; Chief Obi Cubana; KC Limpopo; Abig Nwankwo; and Dr. Frank Igbojindu, among others.

    A highlight of the evening was the donation of N500 million to De Imperial Wives, highlighting the family’s commitment to education, health and economic empowerment in the South East.
