Chukwuebuka is a 300-level Economics student at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). He is a familiar face on campus and is known by his stage name DJ Brownlex.
The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, November 1, when the bus carrying Chukwuebuka and several other students was reportedly late on its way to a concert and allegedly did not have proper headlights. The vehicle collided with a stationary trailer on the Enugu-Onitsha highway.
Reports said Chukwubuka and the bus driver died on the spot, and several other passengers were seriously injured. Two 300-level students remain in coma and a final-year student is being treated for severe brain damage. The injured are currently receiving treatment at Shanahan Hospital in Nsukka.
Chukwuebuka was buried on Sunday, November 2. A video circulated on social media showed a distraught elderly female relative touching the body in an open coffin and calling his name.
