Arizona State University has dismissed the federal government’s claim of £50 billion for university revitalization as fake news. The union said no federal universities have received arrears of funds or wages and warned that the suspended strike could resume if its demands are not met by November 21, 2025.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has dismissed the federal government’s claims of £50 billion for university revitalization as fake news.

In a statement by Professor Jurbe Molwus, the alliance said that no funding has been provided to any federal university and its main demands have not been met ahead of the NEC meeting scheduled for November 8-9, 2025.

ASUU also refuted reports that £2.3 billion had been released over unpaid wages and promotions, insisting members had not received any payments.

Molews said the government’s claims were misleading and stressed the need for lecturers to take real action rather than media statements. The union warned that it could resume the suspended strike if its demands, including wage garnishments and unpaid wages, are not met by November 21, 2025.

    Summary:
ASUU denies receiving £50 billion from the federal government, saying the claim is untrue. The union said no universities have received the alleged funds or any unpaid wages and warned it could resume strike action if its demands are not met by November 21.

In other news… Popular TikTok influencer Darasimi has broken silence following the end of her marriage to content creator Perry Blinks, pleading with Nigerians to stop attacking her online.

In an emotional video shared on her TikTok page, Dalashmi expressed her heartbreak at the intense cyberbullying she has faced since news of their split broke. She revealed that she was unfairly blamed for the relationship’s breakdown despite everything she had given to the relationship.

“I supported him with all my might…and now I’m being bullied for his downfall,” she lamented, holding back tears.

Dalasimi explained that she supported Perry financially and emotionally through the difficult times and never imagined their marriage would end so painfully. She described the ongoing online trolling as “painful and exhausting”, adding that no one really knew what was going on behind the scenes.

The influencer urged Nigerians and fans to show compassion rather than judgement, stressing that both parties are human and deserve peace.

Her statement has since sparked reactions on social media, with many expressing sympathy and calling for an end to cyberbullying against her. Others urged the couple to resolve their differences privately rather than in public.
