Calls for billionaire politician Ned Nwoko to resign as senator are growing amid ongoing marital disputes with Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
Daniels sparked the controversy by accusing Nwoko of arresting her brother Sammy. Sammy was reportedly detained in Lagos on November 6, 2025 and is currently being held in Abuja.
Actress Georgina Onuoha recently urged Nwoko to resign on Instagram, suggesting his resignation would allow for an independent investigation into allegations of sexual coercion, unlawful detention and substance abuse. She also called on the Nigeria Police Force, Ministry of Justice and human rights groups to step in and conduct a thorough investigation.
On a related note, an old video of Regina Daniels’ mother, Rita Daniels, has resurfaced online, clarifying how old she was when she got married. Contrary to claims that Regina married Nwoko when she was 17, Rita Daniels said she was almost 20 when she tied the knot with the politician. The traditional wedding of Regina and Nwoko took place on April 25, 2020 in Delta State.
To add insult to injury, Regina’s brother Swayze had previously made shocking claims about Nwoko’s son’s death, claiming it was caused by heart failure and epileptic seizures caused by excessive drug use in the UK.
