According to the charge sheet submitted by the Commissioner of Police, the alleged crime occurred in August 2024 at Adoration Junction opposite Dan-Legal Hotel in Emene, Enugu State.
Police said Chisholm “defamed the character of one Okonkwo Otzioma’m’ by shouting in public that he had defiled his two daughters, thereby subjecting him to hatred, contempt and ridicule and damaging his reputation.” The chargesheet cited violations of Section 323 of Volume 30 of the Penal Code, Section 325. Investigations revealed that Ozioma Okonkwo was arrested in Enugu on October 25, 2025, after Chisom accused him of sexually abusing their daughters aged 2 and 5 years respectively during a marital dispute. However, a medical examination reportedly found no evidence of abuse, leading to his release.
In the second count, the police accused Chisholm of providing false information to detectives of the State Intelligence Department (SID) in Enugu on October 27, 2025. According to the charges, she “deliberately misled police” by claiming her husband was abusing their daughter, leading to his arrest and detention. This offense is punishable under Section 154(1)(a) and (b) of the Penal Code, Volume 30. II, Enugu State Revised Laws, 2004.
As of the time of this report, the court had not released details about Chisom’s guilty plea, bail status or subsequent proceedings.
