Former Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has reportedly died in London, United Kingdom.
Obiano died after battling “complications related to severe heart failure and urinary cancer.”
A senior family source said: “His health had been deteriorating over the past few months but the final collapse came suddenly. We were devastated.”
Medical officials in London also confirmed that Obiano was receiving intensive care before his condition worsened.
“He fought until the very end,” a hospital insider said.
Obiano was born on August 8, 1955 and hails from Aguleri in Anambra East Local Government Area. He studied accounting at the University of Lagos before starting a career in banking, eventually becoming an executive at Fidelity Bank.
