    • A heartbroken father has recorded a viral video at Gidan Mangoro Hospital in Abuja blaming a staff member for the death of his newborn baby.
    • He claimed that despite having been paying for his wife’s antenatal care, the staff member refused to perform necessary surgery on the day of delivery and failed to pay the balance of £8,000, leaving the baby unattended and subsequent death.
    • The father said his wife was told the child had been taken to another hospital to cover up the carelessness.

A grieving father in Abuja has publicly accused a staff member of Mangoro Hospital, Gidan, of being responsible for the death of his newborn baby over non-payment of medical bills.

In a video shot at the hospital, the father breaks down in tears as he details how his wife used the facility for her entire prenatal care without paying any fees.

He claimed that on the day of delivery, a staff member refused to start a critical procedure because he could not immediately pay the outstanding balance of 8,000 won, leaving the baby unattended.

The distraught father included these touching quotes in his statement:

“Let the world know. This is where my child died. Gidan Mangoro Hospital. They killed my child here because of incompetence. They killed my child in this hospital. From day one, I did everything they asked me to do.”

“We have been doing antenatal care here. I don’t owe them N5… I brought my wife to give birth. They asked me to pay and I said okay, this is what I have first… because N8,000… I have to transfer N3,000 to her before she starts. Before that, my baby was already very weak.”

“Since yesterday, my child has been going from one hospital to another on oxygen. The child has been on oxygen. This is where the whole thing started. They killed my child here. I told the nurse, keep (working). How much is N8000? The nurse insisted because of N8000. Now she has not only cost me money but also my son’s life.”

“My wife is in the hospital, she is not well. They had to lie to her and say we had taken the baby to another hospital! All because of their carelessness. I begged this woman yesterday! I begged her! This woman refused to save my baby’s life.”
