Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the National Assembly, has responded to reports circulating online that his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, has allegedly tested positive for cocaine, cannabis, alcohol, morphine, opioids and other hard drugs.
According to a previous report signed by Dr Adekunle Adesina, Managing Director and Head of Clinical Services at Serenity Royale Hospital, Abuja, Daniels had been battling severe substance abuse. She reportedly participated in the facility’s drug treatment program between September 9 and October 15, 2025.
The hospital’s psychological first aid team was reportedly called to Nwoko’s residence on September 23 after Daniels had not slept for 48 hours and exhibited aggressive behaviour. The medical report said she displayed verbal aggression, irritability, anger and “elusive, avoidant” moods with inconsistent emotional responses.
The report states that the drug treatment program faced challenges due to Daniels’ continued exposure to psychoactive substances, which hindered her progress in rehab.
However, Serenity Royale Hospital clarified through its Instagram page that the leaked report did not come from them and reiterated their commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
In a statement released on Saturday, Senator Nwoko noted that while the hospital did not deny authorizing the report, it did not release it publicly. He also expressed concern that some of Daniels’ recent actions may reflect her impaired mental and emotional state, making her vulnerable to people who may take advantage of her.
The senator stressed that his primary concern is Daniels’ safety, recovery and continued involvement in her children’s lives.
