    • Nollywood actress Queen Nwokoye has discussed her lack of collaboration with Funke Akindele.
    • Nwokoye said Funk invited her to participate in various film projects.
    • Scheduling conflicts have always prevented them from working together.

Nollywood star Queen Nwokoye has opened up on why she is yet to work in a movie with Funke Akindele.

In a recent interview with Seun Oloketuyi, the actress revealed that although Funk extended invitations to her for several projects, scheduling conflicts always prevented them from working together.

Queen also said that although Toyin Abraham first approached her about collaborating in 2016, it was not until this year that the collaboration was possible. She explained, “My family comes first in my career. Toyin has been in contact since 2016, but I just started working with her this year. Funke has never made a movie without inviting me, but the timing was never right.”

The actress, who started her Nollywood journey in 2004, reflected on a difficult period in her life when she lost her parents in 2019. She said the experience taught her to prioritize her happiness and personal life in addition to her career. “I started 2019 with my mom and dad, and within six months, I was an orphan. I still can’t believe I experienced two funerals in such a short period of time. Today, I choose to embrace happiness and leave the past behind. God is in control.” she shared.

Queen Nwokoye has been married to businessman Oluchi Uzoma since 2011, and the couple has three children.

She is now gearing up to star in Toyin Abraham’s directorial debut, Oversabi Aunty.
