Legendary singer 2Baba recently hosted a quiet and heartfelt birthday party for his wife Natasha.
As GistLover reported earlier, the Edo-born politician marked the arrival of another year with 2Baba ensuring that the day was a memorable one for her. He said words could not describe the depth of love and support she showed him.
The award-winning musician expressed his deep affection for Natasha and said he looked forward to spending the rest of his life with her.
Photos from the intimate celebration have emerged online, showing friends and family who attended the event with the couple.
2Baba’s estranged wife, Nollywood actress Annie Idibia now known as AnnieMacaulay just turned 41 on Thursday, November 13, shortly after Natasha Osawaru’s birthday. Anne shared a stunning photo of herself wearing a red dress designed by her friend and celebrity stylist Swanky Jerry.
In another report, 2Baba reflected on his hit song African Queen saying it was both a blessing and a challenge throughout his career. During an appearance on Entertainment & Lifestyle, he explained that while the 2004 classic defined his rise to fame, it also came with its own complications.
“This song was a huge blessing to me, but it also became a problem,” he said. “But like I always say, I’m grateful for everything.”
While “African Queen” remains his most iconic song, 2Baba noted that he also wrote many other fan-favorite songs.
In 2004, he released his debut solo album Face 2 Face, and African Queen propelled him onto the global stage, earning him major honors including BET, MTV Europe and MOBO Awards, making him the first African artist to win all three awards.
Despite its success, the song sparked controversy, especially with former Plantashun Boiz member Ahmadou Augustine Obiabo (in blackface) accusing him of stealing the song on multiple occasions. 2Baba has always denied the accusations, insisting that the song was a collaborative effort during their time as a group.
The debate resurfaced in August 2025 when Billboard named “African Queen” the greatest Afrobeat song of all time.
